Adobe has officially acquired Semrush.
By combining Semrush’s data and intelligence with Adobe’s customer experience tools, together we are creating a market-leading system that helps simplify the full customer lifecycle – from search demand to conversion – built for the age of AI and agentic search.For customers of all sizes, this means a stronger and more integrated offering, continued support, and access to an even stronger product roadmap.

Why did Adobe acquire Semrush? What is the strategic rationale?

  • Together, Adobe and Semrush will deliver a comprehensive solution that gives marketers a holistic understanding of how their brands appear across owned channels, LLMs, traditional search and the wider web.
  • AI has become a new intermediary between brands and their customers — one that doesn't just index content, but synthesizes it, renders judgments, and increasingly acts on customers' behalf. Winning in that environment requires two things: understanding how AI systems perceive your brand across the web and having the execution capability to optimize for both AI and human audiences at scale. Adobe has built the experience execution layer. Semrush has built the market intelligence layer — the most comprehensive SEO, GEO, and ASO data corpus in the industry, tracking how brands appear across search and AI discovery surfaces. Together, we will close the loop in a way that we couldn’t alone.

What value does the Adobe/Semrush combination bring to customers?

  • With the acquisition of Semrush, Adobe expands its ability to serve marketers at every scale, from small businesses to global enterprises, with solutions for search engine optimization (SEO), generative engine optimization (GEO) and agentic search optimization (ASO). Adobe is expanding on Semrush's deep customer adoption to unlock new value across the combined portfolio, uniting Semrush’s discoverability intelligence with Adobe’s brand visibility and agentic web solutions to power more connected, more actionable experiences.  
  • Bringing together Semrush's depth in SEO and GEO data, competitive signal, and market intelligence with Adobe's experience execution capabilities means brands can now go from insight to action in one connected system - seeing the gap and closing it, continuously, at the speed the agentic web demands.

What is the product integration roadmap?

  • Now that the transaction has closed, our teams can work more closely on building best-in-class new products that meet the end-to-end needs of your marketing and brand visibility needs. 
  • Our combined portfolio will offer the full picture of a brand's presence, from discoverability in LLMs to content creation, customer engagement, and conversion to optimize presence, all in one system.

What if I don’t want to wait for the products to integrate?

I’m a smaller customer of Semrush, do I need to worry that I won’t get the attention I’ll need now that Semrush is part of a larger company?
